North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with its ten miles of sun-kissed beaches and more than 100 world-class golf courses, offers a very coveted lifestyle. Our Grand Strand is situated along coastal South Carolina just about midway between Charleston, SC and Wilmington, NC, and is flanked on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and the west by the Intracoastal Waterway. Just to the north and across the border are the neighboring North Carolina coastal communities of Ocean Isle Beach, Sunset Beach, and Calabash. With its natural beauty and abundant recreational opportunities, our area includes the thriving communities of North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, and Little River.
The heart of Myrtle Beach is situated approximately 15 miles south of downtown North Myrtle Beach. Home to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Hard Rock Cafe, world famous Myrtle Beach Pavilion, Broadway at the Beach, Imax theatre, Ripley's Aquarium, and many other attractions. Myrtle Beach is the heartbeat of the Grand Strand. The Travel Channel named Myrtle Beach one of America's Best Beaches and Myrtle Beach was singled out as the Best Family Beach. Highrise family hotels dot the oceanfront and an abundant supply of golf courses can be found in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas.
Once a quaint fishing village, Little River lies on the border of the Carolinas and is home to the annual Blue Crab Festival in May and Shrimp Festival in early October. On the waterfront you'll also find appetizing fare at local seafood restaurants, several unique shops, and a fleet of fishing boats ready to take you on an exciting outing to the Gulf Stream. Several golf courses including River Hills Golf and Country Club, Heather Glen, Glen Dornoch, and Village at the Glens are found in Little River. Marinas including the Cricket Cove Marina, Mariner's Pointe, Lightkeepers Marina and the North Myrtle Beach Marina provide boating enthusiasts with all their boating needs.
Cherry Grove's scenic salt marshes are home to colorful and fascinating wildlife. Many of our vacation homes are situated along channels that connect to the meandering creeks of the inlet's salt marsh. Relax on the deck of your channel home and watch the pelicans and egrets dive for food. Even better, grab your crab line and net and catch your own fresh seafood dinner. There's even a local fishing pier where you can try your luck.
South of Cherry Grove, you'll find Tilghman Beach with its large, upscale oceanfront and residential homes. This is North Myrtle Beach's oldest residential community with many prestigious homes located on or near the The Surf Golf Club. Gator Hole Shopping Plaza at nearby Hwy. 17 and 8th Avenue provides shopping conveniences to both residents and vacationers.
Adjacent and further south are well known Ocean Drive Beach and Crescent Beach. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes, because O.D. is the home of the Shag - our state dance, a more laid back and innovative version of the jitterbug. Enjoy a pleasant meal at one of the Main Street restaurants, catch up on your souvenir shopping in the beach shops on Main Street, or sample the atmosphere and beach music at one of the boulevard night clubs.
Windy Hill is the southernmost section of North Myrtle Beach and home to Barefoot Landing, a delightful entertainment, dining and shopping village. The kids will love Alligator Adventure as well as the thrills and rides at the Grand Prix Amusement Park. Take a night for yourselves and have a grand evening at the Alabama Theatre or House of Blues.
Enjoy the family atmosphere of North Myrtle Beach. You'll be just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach proper. Best of all, you'll find beautiful, clean and safe beaches for your family's pleasure. Contact us if we can provide you with more information about our beach! | |
